    Average maximum temperatures rarely exceed 84 degrees, while the lowest average temperatures are around 64 degrees. Relative humidity averages about 75 percent, dropping to 69 percent during the dry season.

    The dry season runs from December to March, with April and November being transitional months. During the dry season, humidity is lower, and January through March is marked by persistent northeast winds and abundant sunshine. The wet season, from May through November, features less sun and more rain. July tends to be the driest of the wet months, often considered a miniature dry season. Typically, mornings have at least four hours of sunshine before afternoon storms develop. September and October are the rainiest months, averaging 26 inches of rain each, and are the most humid. The Central Valley receives an average of 77.4 inches of annual rainfall. As you ascend into the mountains north of Heredia, especially past Barva, the weather becomes cooler and cloudier.
